'Takamiyama' Adam Hogarth

Adam Hogarth is a very cool guy. He comes in 2 days a week as the print tech at Thames-side studios (where I'm based) and what he doesn't know about print making isn't worth knowing. He did a version of this print by printing a varnish on paper and then shaking salt over the top, the salt stuck to the varnish and you had this beautiful textural print with the white salt on the white paper.
I wanted to stay true to the feel of that piece for the t-shirt and the black print on an ash black tee I think has the same feel. The image of the sumo wrestler broods on the shirt and comes in and out of focus as the light changes in the room. A subtle effect but very dramatic. This is a super cool shirt.
